It’s that time again! Today Pretty Lights dropped the second EP in the trilogy of releases for this year, and as always, it’s totally free! Definitely one of my favorite artists, as I’m sure is for any of you who have heard their music previously. Once again this release comes full of brilliant, brilliant music and I cannot recommend this enough, it’s a 10/10 once again. Support this guy and check out the back catalog on their site it seriously is epic stuff!

Ghostly dropped this EP today by Shigeto and boy oh boy it is incredible. I am seriously hyped on this, it contains such killer beats and production as always from this man. I really don’t need to say any more about it, just hit download now, it’s a must have!
Zach Saginaw’s releases as Shigeto are more than just pieces of music—they’re chapters, carefully laid building blocks of a narrative that spans the artist’s increasingly impressive body of work. This next post is a true ‘You’ll Soon Know’. Pedestrian is coming through with beats like nobody’s business right now and has recently had his first Radio 1 airplay courtesy of Gilles Peterson with his track ‘Led astray’.
I don’t want to call it dubstep, but I guess it is dubstep with a mix of future garage and downtempo beats. It’s some seriously beautiful music you must check out! Keep an eye out for his remix of Commix’s ‘How you gonna feel’, coming on their Re:call to mind album in October, as well as an exclusive mix for YSK in the coming weeks!

This tune has so much emotion to it, it’s one of those songs you can just put on and sit by yourself and wonder what the hell you’re doing on this planet. The whole new Bonobo album is totally amazing in my opinion, which is the same for all his previous albums beforehand, the guy is a musical genius as far as I am concerned. I am personally a long time fan of Deceptikon, I think I have his full discography and have his music on high rotation on my iPhone and iTunes. It was therefor very pleasing to see he took the time to hit me up and share with us some new music! This track we are posting today happens to be off his new album titled ‘Mythology of the Metropolis’ which you can now grab from any of your favorite online stores (click the link for more).
This track itself is full of some amazing melodies and beats and is trademark Deceptikon, his sound has evolved nicely over the years but still has it’s own unique feel. We have posted many things previously from them and I can honestly say it’s some of my favorite music to listen too, great building tracks with amazing harmonics and beats you really have to check this out, enjoy!

It’s funny how things work out sometimes. I actually came across s.maharba two or three years ago when a close friend gave me a CD. It was a new solo project from what was then a fellow band member in his relatively popular hardcore metal band. Hardcore metal turned me off but he insisted I check it out as it would be ‘up my street’, so I did. To my surprise it turned out the music was DOPE, awesome downtempo beats and something kinda ahead of it’s time for the Ipswich part of England that’s for sure. Well I have always kept that CD and enjoyed the music that had came out since but today noticed it’s free for download on Bandcamp and decide I should share it with you all. No doubt if you are into your beats you will already have heard tracks such as ‘French Maid’ played around the DJ scene before (or even our podcast), which features on the “Self titled cassette released in 2008 on Sassbologna Records. Now out of Print.” So do yourself a favor and cop the album and also grab the ‘She’ EP as a free download as well while you’re at at. Hope to hear more from this man soon and for now, enjoy.
Beem - Peel
I was a huge fan of the first Beem album ‘The Future’ (click to DL) and so was stoked to see they have a new album up! Once again a free download, with a bonus track you can buy to support, this album has another great selection of electronic music. Seriously recommended.
