It’s been a busy week, plus I have a root canal infection which means I’m pretty much fucked until Monday when I can get it seen. So this means the site has been pretty slow.. but today I’m raiding the emails while stuck at home and trying to post up some dope shit!
One of those emails was from the homie Grillo, who has hit us up to let us know about a new side project of his alongside UXO titled ‘Go Savant’. The sound has a semi psychedellic downtempo synthy feel too it (fuck describing genres, haha) and I must say I’m really feeling it. Tracks like ‘Empathy of Apathy’ is something I can put on at any time or warm up a club with, serious serious vibes. Looking forward to hearing what comes next from these guys as always.

The guys over at Dropping Gems are fast becoming personal favorites of mine, every email I seem to read from them seems to contain incredible music! This latest release is no different and is from a new act to me called Ghost Feet.
This release is not only a free download but actually has physical tapes to buy as well in a limited quantity which is always nice. I’m really really enjoying listening to this, it’s got some really beautiful instrumentals which are a bit more musical than some of the beat tapes I’ve checked recently. One of my picks for the month so far, read a little more about it below and cop it while it’s hot.

When it comes to beautiful music, Emancipator pretty much has it on lock down. I’ve spent so many days sitting at work or chilling at home to his incredible music.
It was then, a nice treat to see that they put this Ooah release up for free as a sample from his remixes album coming soon. I was worried it was going to get the heavyweight treatment from Ooah but it’s actually a really really nice remix and one I’ll be playing a lot for sure. Check it out!

They have always been putting out great, great music so I was very excited to get some of this into my ears. Gotta say I’m still listening through the end now, but so far it’s sounding really damn dope! My homie S.Maharba mastered the album and also features on it with an incredible remix - other than that, what more do you need to know? Cop it, it’s free - very necessary listening for this week!

I got sent a preview of this a couple of weeks ago from Dropping Gems and have been totally rinsing it every day since. It is an album released for a great great cause, with 100% of the revenue being donated to the American Cancer Society to support cancer research. So as I am about to do, I highly suggest you go and donate towards this LP, but it is a pay what you like album with no starting price.
Some of the names included are Yuk, Juj, Devonwho, Great Mundane, Connie Hawkins, Shigeto and many many more! Honestly some truly wonderful tracks featured on this release so go check it out and please spread the word!
