Big up to Om Unit for the tip on this one (he played it in his set with Mark Pritchard at RBMA). Seriously though, ‘Another World’ is literally on another level - amazing music! I’m definitely looking forward to hunting out more bits from the Hourglass Sea. It’s also pretty awesome that he is from the UK.. so if you like the sounds of Hudson Mohawke then you should definitely check this stuff out!

*You can also get the follow up ‘Return to the Crematorium’ for free, or on cassette here.

Adoptahighway - Chances, Circumstances, Conditions EP

Download: Adoptahighway - Chances, Circumstances, Conditions EP

Adoptahighway is a classically trained electronic music producer, currently based in Milwaukee, WI. After I had heard a few of his tunes over the years this was the first EP time I actually sat down and checked out his music fully.

The sounds he brings on this release tend to be pretty dark for the most part, bassy and beat ridden - as well as touching a variety of tempos. In fact, if you’re a fan of Lorn, there is a high chance you will be digging these vibes. It is also fitting then, that AAH is half of Omega Clash which is the duo of himself and Lorn who put out their first EP a couple of years ago.

I’m a big fan of this so I suggest you check it out - it’s a pay what you like so try to be generous if you enjoy it!

Om Unit & Lorn - Obsidian

Heard a few rumors of collaborations between Om Unit and Lorn and it seems like the first one that’s come to light has been kindly given away for free! Something slightly different for Lorn going on the more electro uptempo vibe, but it really works. Dark and moody with lots of grunt!

Also highly recommend you check out this Recent Donkey pitch radio show featuring a guest mix from Om Unit. Real dope.

So it’s just over a month until Com Truise’s Galactic Melt will hit the shelves. I for one am extremely excited as so far everything he has put out has been a joy to my ears!

Ghostly dropped this freebie as a little taster, boy it’s fresh. July 5th, mark the date…

P.S - Bonus Beat, Com Truise vs Lil Wayne is actually on repeat for me this week, it’s so damn good!

Africa Hitech - Glangslap

Not got much time to write about this, but wow!! Been awaiting this new Africa Hitech full length for so long and it doesn’t disappoint! It’s released fully on Monday but they have given this one track away as a freebie to promote it. I for one will be buying it instantly, Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek can do no wrong..

You can also stream the full album after the jump for a limited amount of time, it’s some seriously wonderful music.

YSK#14 Com Truise - Pyragony & Cyanide Sisters

This should really have been a normal post but for some reason I forgot to post this even though It’s been one of my favorite things of 2010. So today I’m posing up some Com Truise heat as a ‘You Should Know’, as you really should by now!

I guess this post is also relevant as it was only recently that he was picked up by Ghostly as their latest addition to an already incredible lineup of artists. His first track to come out was an extended version of Cyanide Sisters on the Ghostly compilation and no doubt there are plenty more to follow.

When trying to describe the music words almost pass me by, but this shit is basically incredible. For the most part it’s like slow funk synthtastic epicness? Really it’s very unique and 80’s sounding but I can’t put it under one genre. Some of the tracks have a more IDM feel, some a more beat style makeup, either way these two releases alone are off the chain. Tracks like Pyragony will pretty much leave you with your jaw open, it’s beautiful music at it’s finest.

Although he has been making music under different aliases for quite a while now, I think Com Truise is going to be a big hit in 2011, check out the tunes, pretty sure you’re going to love them if you’ve not already checked them out, enjoy.
