I was a big fan of The Glitch Mob’s previous music and live shows so it was cool to see this taster from their up coming album ‘Drink the Sea’ pop up on their website! It’s definitely sounding good, really good in fact, and they don’t seem to have slowed down at all even after Kraddy moved on from the group. Check this, you won’t be disappointed. The album is released May 25th.

Don’t get me wrong I love my deep dark sounds and beats, but Rusko is just so much fun! What a great character and this tune is an absolute stonker! I know Mr Logistics is also a huge fan of this tune, catchy talkbox and weird sounds all over the shop. I was pumping it out while lounging on the beach by LA, California just a few weeks ago, which is where Rusko is now residing… ahh I need to get back there soon! I would hope by now you have all heard the previous releases from Pretty Lights! This EP is the first in a trilogy of EPs to be released in 2010. We have posted many things previously from them and I can honestly say it’s some of my favorite music to listen too, great building tracks with amazing harmonics and beats you really have to check this out, enjoy!

Hot on the heels of Pixelord’s “Lucid Freaks pt. 1” comes this eleven-track remix compilation. “Lucid Freaks pt. 2 - The Remixes” features a couple of Russia’s hottest producers, including RBMA -participant DZA, Demokracy, OL and Miracle Libido (the latter two as known from their Monday Jazz tape). The Lord himself reworked a tune exclusively for this record.
From the US, we got AshTreJinkins and Chocolate Girl with their bass-heavy interpretations of Steppa styles. Netherland knob twiddlers Jameszoo and Coco Bryce re-crunk the Pixelord funk, and finally Austria-based producer Abby Lee Tee is dropping in for a mix. One hell of a line-up, you bet. Art comes from Michael Dotson, once again.
So I just got through listening to this and totally enjoying it when I realized I have not yet posted it up! Killer new ish from Pixelord and the Error Broadcast fam once again. Some futuristic sounds and wonky beats make up a really great listen from many artists I had previously not heard of. Don’t sleep, cop it now and if you dig grab the lossless deal from bandcamp. While I’ve been writing this I’ve just put it back on repeat - there we go..

Alpha Pup today relaunched their website for 2010 and so I felt it was relevant to post up one of the great tracks they have on offer on the site and one of my personal faves! I would already hope most of you have Nosaj Thing’s ‘Drift’ album, but if not here is one of it’s highlights, Coat of Arms’. Insane bass (try hearing this in plastic people on full blast, will almost shake your heart out of your mouth!) and an incredible track I think you’ll all agree. It’s funny how things work out sometimes. I actually came across s.maharba two or three years ago when a close friend gave me a CD. It was a new solo project from what was then a fellow band member in his relatively popular hardcore metal band. Hardcore metal turned me off but he insisted I check it out as it would be ‘up my street’, so I did. To my surprise it turned out the music was DOPE, awesome downtempo beats and something kinda ahead of it’s time for the Ipswich part of England that’s for sure. Well I have always kept that CD and enjoyed the music that had came out since but today noticed it’s free for download on Bandcamp and decide I should share it with you all. No doubt if you are into your beats you will already have heard tracks such as ‘French Maid’ played around the DJ scene before (or even our podcast), which features on the “Self titled cassette released in 2008 on Sassbologna Records. Now out of Print.” So do yourself a favor and cop the album and also grab the ‘She’ EP as a free download as well while you’re at at. Hope to hear more from this man soon and for now, enjoy.
Beem - Peel
I was a huge fan of the first Beem album ‘The Future’ (click to DL) and so was stoked to see they have a new album up! Once again a free download, with a bonus track you can buy to support, this album has another great selection of electronic music. Seriously recommended.
