It’s safe to say it’s been a while since the last podcast, but you know, we’re trying to be select with who we bring to you! I am now very excited to announce podcast mix 4 from a friend of mine, the UK’s Pedestrian.

Having recently acquired plays from the likes of Gilles Peterson on Radio 1 and having recently remixed for top artists such as Commix, it’s safe to say 2010 is already turning out to be a big year for Pedestrian. The mix features plenty of exclusives from the likes of Commix, Sigha, Gang Colours as well as many more, Enjoy ‘Dance Music for Home Listening’.

Interview, tracklist and mixcloud stream after the jump.

GangColours - Chance Meeting

So, we’re lucky enough to have another exclusive today!

This time it’s the turn of Southampton-based producer, GangColours, who’s gifted us a beauty of a track. Having first heard his stuff at the beginning of the year off the back of a tip from a friend, Will Ozanne has been refining his understated, varied, and at times melancholic take on post-garage/post-whatever electronica. And it seems we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed… with a couple GangColours tracks sneaking their way onto Gilles Peterson’s Radio 1 show in recent months.

The track we’ve managed to get our grubby mitts on is entitled ‘Chance Meeting’ and has shades of the forlorn minimalism of Trentemoller, whilst still showing signs of the bass-centric UK-underground from which it emerged. And although sparse throughout, by its end the track builds momentum and evolves into an almighty, rumbling low-end roller!

So make sure you download ‘Chance Meeting’, and tell your friends about the badman that is GangColours! You can follow him on Soundcloud here!

Breakage doesn’t half know how to bang out the tunes, seems like every week something new pops up from that man! He definitely goes in deep with this one on his dubstep / garage flex, it’s well worth a listen, enjoy! (via)

Kode9 has made some incredible tracks in his time, he also runs Hyperdub and is at the forefront of electronic music. The next Dj Kicks mix is going to be crafted by him as well so this track is to celebrate that and is featured in the mix. A mix of a variety of styles this should please a lot of peoples ears!

With all the crazy election bollocks that’s going on in the UK right now, the best thing we can advise you to do is check out this fresh mix Deadboy just did for Plan-B! It features some funky dubsteppy garage vibes and is a nice journey through a variety of sounds, enjoy.

Naughty - Quicktime (Roska Remix)

I’m not going to lie, I’m not too clued up on the UK funky scene! But Roska has been making tracks that I’ve started to hear all over the place! Some swing more towards house, some towards garage and some almost dubstep. This remix is a funky / garagey feeling track with some nice vibes for a spring day. His album is out now, so if you’re into this you know where to go for more of it, enjoy!

Todd Edwards - I Might Be (Joy Orbsion Remix)

Scion seem to have their feet firmly in the musical pie these last couple of years, putting out so many great CD’s, mixes, and shows. Their latest endeavor is this awesome remix collection featuring one of our favorite Todd Edwards bits! We all know and love Todd for his amazing garage classics! I have featured the Joy Orbison remix, as personally it is the hottest in my opinion, but you should definitely grab the whole zip which includes the original classic and remixes from Mj Cole, Feadz, My Dear Disco, and more. Wicked stuff!

Scuba - Before

Download: Scuba - Before

It’s safe to say Scuba is one of the most influential artists in the dubstep / garage / techno scene right now and his new album Triangulation is only days away from dropping! His first album has had hundreds of plays on my ipod and I am personally a big fan. It’s therefore a nice treat to see that XLR8R has posted up a fresh 320kbps download of ‘Before’, one of the tracks on the new album! Keep an eye out for this one people, gonna be big.
