Heard a few rumors of collaborations between Om Unit and Lorn and it seems like the first one that’s come to light has been kindly given away for free! Something slightly different for Lorn going on the more electro uptempo vibe, but it really works. Dark and moody with lots of grunt!
Also highly recommend you check out this Recent Donkey pitch radio show featuring a guest mix from Om Unit. Real dope.

Been looking forward to this for the last few weeks since Lorn mentioned he would be dropping it! The time is finally here and you can now check out Self Confidence Volume 2. Full of fuggin dope beats as you would expect, this is a must! (For the record, there are 38 beats in this selection all at 320, what a nice chap he is.)
You can also check our previous Lorn posts here, as you can tell we are big fans here at YSK and personally he is definitely one of my favorite artists. Gully beats!

Here it is making another appearance, this time given a fresh new twist by Brainfeeder artist and YSK fave, Lorn. I was lucky enough to catch Lorn over in London for Brainfeeder, and again at the Rhythm Factory this past weekend. The man has his beats down to a T and his live show is about as thumping as it gets! I’m still pumped on what I got to hear and so was excited to see a tweet containing this little freebie. Anyway this is about as deep as it gets music wise, ambient, subby, beat-less and moody. Something different for sure…
Lorn - Tomorrow
Seriously, you guy’s are getting luckier and luckier out there in internet land. Today LA Weekly dropped another free mp3 from the man they call Lorn. You already know what I think about this cat and so grab it and enjoy, you should then proceed to Brainfeeder and find out how to get your hands on ‘Nothing Else’, coming June 8th. Serious serious heat - this IS the future, just listen to that grinding bass!

Lorn - Cherry Moon
I am very excited for Lorn’s album. His music is fucking awesome. This track is featured on the new album entitled ‘Nothing Else’ which will be coming out on Brainfeeder. The track is just a taster of Lorn’s unique style which takes in elements of deep bass, melodies, some magic, and ties them all together in a killer bundle. Check it out, gonna be one of the best releases of the year for sure. (via)

It’s always a good Friday with little gem’s like this from Lorn! Big fans over here at YSK, this is a nice deep beat with some wicked vocals over the top, definitely addictive and a tease for what’s to come on his up-coming Brainfeeder release.

To mark the release of the stellar video for “Peanut Butter & Patience,” Deru has put together an EP containing the album mix and remixes by three fellow progressive electronic-hip-hop travelers. Brainfeeder Records’ Lorn takes first crack at the track. He doubles down on the percussive feel of the original, gets loose with the synths, and gives the track a space-age sheen. Los Angeles’ The Great Mundane proves to be anything but that, switching time signatures and moods while keeping it gritty and loose enough to never feel academic. Ginormous shows off his downtempo beat-making skill, making the track into something familiar, yet entirely new. “Peanut Butter & Patience” will give the beat heads and the chin-scratchers alike cause for excitement.
