Seams - Hung Markets

The second release on new label Pictures Music comes from Seams. The digital release of his new EP Tourist is set for November 22nd for those of us who missed the Cassette run of 20! You may recognise the name as he has been supporting Gold Panda on tour and has remixed one of his tracks. This new EP was made during a summer spent in Berlin.

Having packed light taking no equipment beyond his laptop, Seams spent his time recording sounds from around him on an old cassette recorder and his mobile phone. Field recordings taken from his daily adventures became the basis for each track, creating audio snapshots of a time or place. With this stripped down approach Seams has created a stunning and engaging journey that guides you blindfold through the atmospheres of Berlin in summer.

Hung Markets of the EP is being given away for free to give you a taste of what’s to come. I really enjoy the organic feel the field recordings used give the track, from the chatter at the start to the little clips used throughout that keep the 7 minute instrumental constantly mesmerizing and warranting of your every attention. Mount Kimbie - Ruby (Live at Berghain, Berlin)

To celebrate the release of their forthcoming EP, ‘Blind Night Errand’, Mount Kimbie are giving away an exclusive track, ‘Ruby (Live at Berghain, Berlin)’ for free! Beautiful unique and spacious sounds as you would expect from these guys. The album drops November 29th on Scubas Hot Flush recordings, I’m sure you many of you are excited for this release!

Jus Wan - Miles Away

In a similar vain to the DJG releases we posted last week here is another pay-what-you-want album, this time from Jus Wan. The San Fransisco producer has been making incredible tunes for a long while now and I can also safely say he has produced one of my all time favorite 140bpm tracks, Action Potential.

Have a listen to this treat and sample the deeper more melodic sound of dubstep (and a few other downtempo / beat tracks such as the great ‘In Your Orbit’), it’s definitely a personal favorite for the week. You can also check out an interview he just did with Sonic Router in which it saddens me to read that this could be his last stint with music, a great shame if so.

DJG - Voids

Holy shit, this is dope! I knew it was coming but forgot today was the day. DJG has just dropped Voids, two EP’s both featuring 6 dope dubstep tracks (mainly) from the more deeper side of the spectrum. No minimum price means the tracks are technically free, but I highly suggest you throw the man some dollars - this is a real real treat (as I’m sure any of you who own DJG tracks on digital or vinyl already know) Definitely one of my favorite things I’ve posted so far this year, I cannot big it up enough. I’ve got a feeling I’ll be playing these out and in my bedroom a lot over the coming weeks, incredible music - not one to be missed.

Martyn and Kode 9 are both big in my book for being two of the most unique and diverse producers out there. Today LA times posted up a great interview with Kode 9 which features this free remix track by Martyn and is well worth a read. The track is on quite a funky house sort of vibe but has a nice swing to it for sure. Watch out for Dj Kicks by Kode 9 coming soon, enjoy!

Some deep dubstep vibes for today courtesy of Rob Sparx, who just dropped this track for free. Rob has been making some serious sounds for a long time now, one of my most recent faves being ‘Arcade’. Check the tune and keep an eye out for more goodness from this man.

Kode9 has made some incredible tracks in his time, he also runs Hyperdub and is at the forefront of electronic music. The next Dj Kicks mix is going to be crafted by him as well so this track is to celebrate that and is featured in the mix. A mix of a variety of styles this should please a lot of peoples ears!

It’s safe to say Scuba is one of the most influential artists in the dubstep / garage / techno scene right now and his new album Triangulation is only days away from dropping! His first album has had hundreds of plays on my ipod and I am personally a big fan. It’s therefore a nice treat to see that XLR8R has posted up a fresh 320kbps download of ‘Before’, one of the tracks on the new album! Keep an eye out for this one people, gonna be big.
