It’s safe to say it’s been a while since the last podcast, but you know, we’re trying to be select with who we bring to you! I am now very excited to announce podcast mix 4 from a friend of mine, the UK’s Pedestrian.
Having recently acquired plays from the likes of Gilles Peterson on Radio 1 and having recently remixed for top artists such as Commix, it’s safe to say 2010 is already turning out to be a big year for Pedestrian. The mix features plenty of exclusives from the likes of Commix, Sigha, Gang Colours as well as many more, Enjoy ‘Dance Music for Home Listening’.

Starkey is one of my favourite artists in dubstep and has been since before his first album dropped, he seems to always bring something different to his music while maintaining a bass heavy and dubstep sort of sound, Street Bass I believe he calls it. Anyway Fact Magazine just put out this free track from him, quite different from other stuff I’ve heard from him yet still has that distinct Starkey feel which you’ll no doubt have grown to love!

We just got given Dark Sky - Frames EP through the e-mail this morning and I’ve already listened to it through a few times, such amazing beats. The people at Pictures Music were kind enough to give us a track from the EP to give to you lucky people. The track is Night Light, which is probably my favourite track off the EP, it has a kinda future garage feel mixed with a whoomp bass and some clanging synth leads making it perfect for to skank out to. Here at YSK we have always championed the sound of My Dry Wet Mess, he even mixed our latest podcast which has been hugely popular. We are all glad to see that the man is going from strength to strength right now and gaining a larger following, this will no doubt be helped further by this remix, which is today featured on XLR8R. I’d never heard of Big Mister Doom, a duo of electronic producers from Leeds, until earlier today when them gem came through the e-mails. I’m really feeling this track, which reminds me a little of edit’s first album mixed with a little Mount Kimbie and various other artists of that nature along the way, and have been playing it all day. They have their first EP coming out in the coming months so check it out when it drops! Also check this remix of an Eskimo Twins track.
