It’s funny how things work out sometimes. I actually came across s.maharba two or three years ago when a close friend gave me a CD. It was a new solo project from what was then a fellow band member in his relatively popular hardcore metal band. Hardcore metal turned me off but he insisted I check it out as it would be ‘up my street’, so I did. To my surprise it turned out the music was DOPE, awesome downtempo beats and something kinda ahead of it’s time for the Ipswich part of England that’s for sure. Well I have always kept that CD and enjoyed the music that had came out since but today noticed it’s free for download on Bandcamp and decide I should share it with you all. No doubt if you are into your beats you will already have heard tracks such as ‘French Maid’ played around the DJ scene before (or even our podcast), which features on the “Self titled cassette released in 2008 on Sassbologna Records. Now out of Print.” So do yourself a favor and cop the album and also grab the ‘She’ EP as a free download as well while you’re at at. Hope to hear more from this man soon and for now, enjoy.

So Gavin from Jus Like Music just dropped us an email to inform us of this dope new release from Shankles. They have always been putting out great, great music so I was very excited to get some of this into my ears. Gotta say I’m still listening through the end now, but so far it’s sounding really damn dope! My homie S.Maharba mastered the album and also features on it with an incredible remix - other than that, what more do you need to know? Cop it, it’s free - very necessary listening for this week!
YSK Radio 9th of May - Special Guest S.Maharba LIVE
A quick date for your diary! Next Monday night (9th of May 2011) from 12-2am GMT (that’s 4-6pm for everyone in California) we have special guest S.Maharba joining us for the show. Our show time is now permanently 12-2 not 1-3, which is much better we feel.
We will be having a chat with S to see what he’s been up to and he will also be performing a live set for you all. First time he’s done this on radio and it’s a pretty rare treat, so a great opportunity to hear his incredible skills. (See this video for reference). Tell a friend to tell a friend!
